St Maarten/St Martin

Boasting the second largest airport, Princess Juliana, airport in the Caribbean region, StMaarten can be just a stop on the way to your destination.
And yet, it could very well be THE DESTINATION!

“For an island with a big reputation for restaurants, hotels, and energetic nightlife, St. Maarten is small — only 96 sq. km (37 sq. miles), about half the area of Washington, D.C. An island divided between the Netherlands and France, St. Maarten is the Dutch half, and St. Martin is French The divided island is the smallest territory in the world shared by two sovereign states“ says The New York Times.

The island offers all the best of the three worlds – the Dutch, the French and the Caribbean!

We depart from the charming French town of Marigot with its Fort Louis overlooking the town, the marina and the harbor. Our first stop is Grand Case, the beautiful, protected haven, a perfect swimming/snorkeling area. Enoy your simple, yet elegant French lunch on the Pinel island, and relax for the rest of the afternoon back on your boat.
On the Dutch side the vibrant, busy and loud boardwalk of Philibsburg might attract you, but the treasures lay under water – the sunken Cessna plane and the helicopter, cannons and the whole park of concrete St Maarten statues, where the bright tropical fishes are waiting for you!
